As part of a Board agreement, we aim to offer more transparency and to communicate our major agenda items, decisions and activities to members I will send out a summary communication monthly
Penn Golf Club Board Meeting 25th September 2023
Finance
• First half of the year finance budget is tracking to actuals with the barrelage contracting also tracking as expected (bar sales were down in August mainly due to holiday periods)
Honorary Secretary
• Health & Safety
o All annual reviews took place August 29th (PGC achieved 82% pass rate) 75% was required.
o Winter buggy policy being reviewed in readiness for winter 2023 release.
o Buggy accident reported on 9th Tee Investigated and appropriate forms and action taken.
• Swing Studio, some rerouting of cables and some overhead lighting improvements with false ceiling will see work completed.
• Confirmation that the club pro will deliver 1 x free lesson to all members (1/2 hour) these lessons are in the swing studio.
Greens Committee
• Introduction of winter mats (fairways) under discussion
• Request for a “sprayer” for treatments under review (currently work is being undertaken by tractor)
• With pending retirements, we will be advertising soon for new green staff.
Competition
• No Report
Buildings Committee
• No Report
Marketing
• Removal of existing flyover “hole in one golf” from current website was agreed.
• Halloween Party on 25th October all entertainment booked, please support.
Ladies
• No Report
AOB
• During October board meeting, forthcoming subscriptions for 2024/5 will be reviewed in readiness for presentation at the AGM in November 2023
