Etiquette & Dress Code

Car Park
Members and visitors are not permitted to change their shoes or clothing (other than waterproofs) on the car park.

Golf Course
Golf shoes and recognised golf wear must be worn.
Football/beach style shorts, denim wear and t-shirts, combat/cargo shorts/trousers, tracksuits and trainers must not be worn. Hats must be worn conventionally. Shirts MUST be tucked into shorts/trousers at all times.

Clubhouse
Smart casual dress to include recognised golf wear is permitted. Only smart denim wear and trainers are allowed. Headwear, combat/cargo trousers or trousers with patch pockets on the sides are not allowed at any time. Sandal style/open toed footwear for men is not acceptable at any time.

Shirts MUST be tucked into shorts/trousers at all times. Extremes of dress are not acceptable. Members/Guests are asked to be considerate of furniture and remove any wet/muddy outerwear when in the clubhouse.*
For certain presentations and events collared shirts, jacket and tie are required for men and smart evening wear for ladies. Dress codes for these events will be specified accordingly.
*On a few occasions the dress code is relaxed - eg. pool league matches.

Smoking Policy
Penn Golf Club operates a No Smoking policy throughout its buildings in line with laws and legislation. The use of E-Cig devices is not allowed anywhere in the building.

Mobile Phones & Laptops
All devices must be on silent at all times. Mobiles may be used for messages and internet access but no voice use. Laptops and computers may be used with prior permission from the club.

COURSE

DRESS CODE FOR THE COURSE

All Members and visitors using the course must be correctly dressed for golf, which includes wearing proper golf shoes.
Mens’ shirts must be tucked in AT ALL TIMES

The wearing of the following items of dress on the course IS NOT PERMITTED AT ANY TIME.

1. Blue denim Clothing.

2. Collarless ‘T’ shirts.

3. Trainers.

4. Track Suits/Combat Trousers. (No pockets on legs)

5. Trouser leg bottoms worn inside socks, except when
covered by waterproof trousers

6. Shorts to be tailored and approaching knee length.
(COMBAT, FOOTBALL OR SPORTS SHORTS ARE NOT
PERMITTED)

THE MANAGEMENT OF THE CLUB RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ADMITTANCE TO ANY PERSON WHO DOES NOT CONFORM TO THE ABOVE RULES.

Dress rules may be amended by the Board as circumstances necessitate.

CLUBHOUSE

DRESS CODE FOR THE CLUBHOUSE

Members and Visitors may wear smart casual clothes, (including jeans, trainers and crossover shoes) in the clubhouse at any time.
SHOES WORN TO PLAY GOLF IN, MUST NOT BE WORN INTO THE CLUBHOUSE

WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CLUB NIGHT, THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE CLUBHOUSE AT ANY OTHER TIME

1. Ripped/Torn jeans.

2. No collarless “T” shirts

3. No track suits/combat trousers. (pockets on legs)

4. No water/windproof golf clothing

5. Flip flops

6. No Golf Shoes

Shorts to be tailored and approaching knee length.

THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANY PERSON WHO DOES NOT CONFORM TO THE ABOVE RULES

When certain Club functions require more formal attire,
Members will be advised in advance.

Dress rules in the Clubhouse may be amended by the Board as circumstances necessitate.
